Dr. Shamarao has a fellowship in Paediatric Critical Care Medicine. The fellowship was awarded by the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto. He also has a clinical fellowship from the Ormand Street Hospital for Sick Children in London. The fellowship is in Paediatric Critical Care. He won the Best Junior Resident in Paediatrics award from the Lady Hardinge Medical College of New Delhi.   • Dr. Shamarao was the Chairman of the Scientific Abstracts Committee. He attended the National Conference of Paediatric Intensive Care as a Chairman in 2019. He was one of the three doctors from Manipal Hospitals who successfully treated a teenage patient whose vaginal canal was not developed. The details of this rare case were published in the Times of India with lots of praise for the doctors. He also treated a 16-year-old patient who suffered from tuberculosis for seven weeks using ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). The patient showed signs of development after seven weeks. There was a risk that ventilators and other supporting equipment could damage the organs, but Dr. Shamarao saved the patient after fighting for nine weeks using ECMO. He has written about various topics like the risk of COVID-19 for children, tuberculosis in children, and children with heart and lung issues in different newspapers like The Hindu, the Times of India, and many others. He can speak Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and English. He is famous in Bangalore as a skilled paediatrician and has worked on hundreds of complicated cases.
