  • Dr. Karthik Nagesh is one of the highly acclaimed consultant paediatric neonatologist in Old Airport Road, Bangalore as this veteran has made an immense contribution to the field of neonatal care. He has a long-term association with the Manipal Hospitals located on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru with the role of Consultant – Neonatology and Paediatrics since 1992. He has earned quite a reputation in India for his progressive work taking care of sick newborns in intensive care by using revolutionary ventilation and surfactant therapy to alleviate respiratory issues. In 2020, he was awarded the most distinguished Fellowship by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics to recognise his contribution and efforts towards child health. Dr. Karthik Nagesh is also an adjunct faculty of Paediatrics at the KMC in Manipal University. Dr. Karthik Nagesh's selfless service and dedication in the field of neonatology have won him several awards and recognition. The GKNM Hospital conferred the Dr. G. K. Devarajulu Memorial Endowment Oration Award, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics offered him Dr. V. Balagopal Raju Award for his Child health research paper, and IAP Delhi awarded him with Dr. Satya Gupta Endowment Prize. This Indian, conferred with FRCPCH, (London) has also authored two chapters of the IAP-NNF Textbook of Clinical Neonatology published by Jaypee Bros. in 2021, which is now used for neonatal practice reference by Indian neonatologists. He has also written and edited a chapter of the renowned Cloherty and Stark’s Manual of Neonatal Care – South Asian Edition 2021 that has NICU protocols to be followed by neonatologists. Dr. Karthik Nagesh made the country beam with pride by being instrumental in conducting Newborn Week celebration events and Newborn Health initiatives by collaborating with National Neonatology Forum and United Nations.   • Dr Karthik Nagesh pursued his training in Neonatal Intensive Care at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospitals in London, and at the Hope Hospital, University of Manchester School of Medicine.
  • Nagesh returned to India in 1992, to set up one of the first tertiary level care Neonatal Intensive Care Units in India.
  • He is well known for having setup a ‘state of the art NICU’ at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore with the reputation of providing high quality intensive care to the sickest of small neonates ethically.
  • He was the Head of Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital from 2001 to 2004 and later has been the Head of Neonatology.
  • He then turned his focus to promoting Paediatric Research in priority areas relevant to India and to pursue imparting education in neonatology more actively amongst paediatricians.
  • He is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the ‘Foundation for Newborns’, a trust which does charity work for sick babies and promotes newborn health. He was President of the National Neonatology Forum (Karnataka, India) from 2001 to 2003.
  • He was nominated to be the President of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Bangalore for the year 2010.

  • Dr. Karthik Nagesh is one of the highly acclaimed consultant paediatric neonatologist in Old Airport Road, Bangalore as this veteran has made an immense contribution to the field of neonatal care. He has a long-term association with the Manipal Hospitals located on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru with the role of Consultant – Neonatology and Paediatrics since 1992. He has earned quite a reputation in India for his progressive work taking care of sick newborns in intensive care by using revolutionary ventilation and surfactant therapy to alleviate respiratory issues. In 2020, he was awarded the most distinguished Fellowship by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics to recognise his contribution and efforts towards child health. The National Neonatology Forum conferred a fellowship in the area of neonatology for lifetime service. He is celebrated for setting up NICU with state of a art facility at Manipal Hospital to deliver exceptional intensive care to even the tiniest newborns. In addition, he played a vital role in establishing five more NICUs across the country to offer excellent care to sick neonates. 

  • Dr. Nagesh is also the Neonatal ICU and Neonatology HOD and Chairman of Manipal Hospitals Group as well as Manipal Advanced Children’s Centre. He underwent training in reputed institutes like the University of Manchester School of Medicine, Neonatal Intensive Care at Chelsea Hospitals and Queen Charlotte in London, and Hope Hospital. He is the Managing Trustee and Founder of the trust called the Foundation for Newborns to perform charity work to enhance the health and care of sick newborns. Dr. Karthik Nagesh is also an adjunct faculty of Paediatrics at the KMC in Manipal University. Dr. Karthik Nagesh's selfless service and dedication in the field of neonatology have won him several awards and recognition. The GKNM Hospital conferred the Dr. G. K. Devarajulu Memorial Endowment Oration Award, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics offered him Dr. V. Balagopal Raju Award for his Child health research paper, and IAP Delhi awarded him with Dr. Satya Gupta Endowment Prize. This Indian, conferred with FRCPCH, (London) has also authored two chapters of the IAP-NNF Textbook of Clinical Neonatology published by Jaypee Bros. in 2021, which is now used for neonatal practice reference by Indian neonatologists. He has also written and edited a chapter of the renowned Cloherty and Stark’s Manual of Neonatal Care – South Asian Edition 2021 that has NICU protocols to be followed by neonatologists. Dr. Karthik Nagesh made the country beam with pride by being instrumental in conducting Newborn Week celebration events and Newborn Health initiatives by collaborating with National Neonatology Forum and United Nations. He was the first to introduce air transport to ensure immediate medical attention for sick newborns in India.

  • Dr Karthik Nagesh pursued his training in Neonatal Intensive Care at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospitals in London, and at the Hope Hospital, University of Manchester School of Medicine.
  • Nagesh returned to India in 1992, to set up one of the first tertiary level care Neonatal Intensive Care Units in India.
  • He is well known for having setup a ‘state of the art NICU’ at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore with the reputation of providing high quality intensive care to the sickest of small neonates ethically.
  • He was the Head of Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital from 2001 to 2004 and later has been the Head of Neonatology.
  • He then turned his focus to promoting Paediatric Research in priority areas relevant to India and to pursue imparting education in neonatology more actively amongst paediatricians.
  • He is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the ‘Foundation for Newborns’, a trust which does charity work for sick babies and promotes newborn health. He was President of the National Neonatology Forum (Karnataka, India) from 2001 to 2003.
  • He was nominated to be the President of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Bangalore for the year 2010.
  • He was conferred the Fellowship award of the National Neonatology Forum of India (2013) for lifetime service in the field of neonatology.
  • Recently Bestowed with the prestigious FIAP (Fellowship award of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics) in 2020 for lifetime contribution to Child Health.
  • More than 20,000 neonates have been treated by him and his dedicated team of doctors and nurses these last 28 years.

  • Invited as a Contributing Author to write and edit a chapter in the South Asian edition of the prestigious ‘Cloherty and Stark’s Manual of Neonatal Care’, Wolters Kluwer, 2021. This manual is used by neonatologists all over as a primer of protocols to follow in neonatal intensive care. (2020-21).

  • Dr. Karthik Nagesh is one of the highly acclaimed consultant paediatric neonatologist in Old Airport Road, Bangalore as this veteran has made an immense contribution to the field of neonatal care. He has a long-term association with the Manipal Hospitals located on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru with the role of Consultant – Neonatology and Paediatrics since 1992. He has earned quite a reputation in India for his progressive work taking care of sick newborns in intensive care by using revolutionary ventilation and surfactant therapy to alleviate respiratory issues. In 2020, he was awarded the most distinguished Fellowship by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics to recognise his contribution and efforts towards child health. The National Neonatology Forum conferred a fellowship in the area of neonatology for lifetime service. He is celebrated for setting up NICU with state of a art facility at Manipal Hospital to deliver exceptional intensive care to even the tiniest newborns. In addition, he played a vital role in establishing five more NICUs across the country to offer excellent care to sick neonates. 

  • Dr. Nagesh is also the Neonatal ICU and Neonatology HOD and Chairman of Manipal Hospitals Group as well as Manipal Advanced Children’s Centre. He underwent training in reputed institutes like the University of Manchester School of Medicine, Neonatal Intensive Care at Chelsea Hospitals and Queen Charlotte in London, and Hope Hospital. He is the Managing Trustee and Founder of the trust called the Foundation for Newborns to perform charity work to enhance the health and care of sick newborns. Dr. Karthik Nagesh is also an adjunct faculty of Paediatrics at the KMC in Manipal University. Dr. Karthik Nagesh's selfless service and dedication in the field of neonatology have won him several awards and recognition. The GKNM Hospital conferred the Dr. G. K. Devarajulu Memorial Endowment Oration Award, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics offered him Dr. V. Balagopal Raju Award for his Child health research paper, and IAP Delhi awarded him with Dr. Satya Gupta Endowment Prize. This Indian, conferred with FRCPCH, (London) has also authored two chapters of the IAP-NNF Textbook of Clinical Neonatology published by Jaypee Bros. in 2021, which is now used for neonatal practice reference by Indian neonatologists. He has also written and edited a chapter of the renowned Cloherty and Stark’s Manual of Neonatal Care – South Asian Edition 2021 that has NICU protocols to be followed by neonatologists. Dr. Karthik Nagesh made the country beam with pride by being instrumental in conducting Newborn Week celebration events and Newborn Health initiatives by collaborating with National Neonatology Forum and United Nations. He was the first to introduce air transport to ensure immediate medical attention for sick newborns in India.

  • Dr Karthik Nagesh pursued his training in Neonatal Intensive Care at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospitals in London, and at the Hope Hospital, University of Manchester School of Medicine.

  • Dr. Karthik Nagesh is one of the highly acclaimed consultant paediatric neonatologist in Old Airport Road, Bangalore as this veteran has made an immense contribution to the field of neonatal care. He has a long-term association with the Manipal Hospitals located on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru with the role of Consultant – Neonatology and Paediatrics since 1992. He has earned quite a reputation in India for his progressive work taking care of sick newborns in intensive care by using revolutionary ventilation and surfactant therapy to alleviate respiratory issues. In 2020, he was awarded the most distinguished Fellowship by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics to recognise his contribution and efforts towards child health. The National Neonatology Forum conferred a fellowship in the area of neonatology for lifetime service. He is celebrated for setting up NICU with state of a art facility at Manipal Hospital to deliver exceptional intensive care to even the tiniest newborns. In addition, he played a vital role in establishing five more NICUs across the country to offer excellent care to sick neonates. 

  • Dr. Nagesh is also the Neonatal ICU and Neonatology HOD and Chairman of Manipal Hospitals Group as well as Manipal Advanced Children’s Centre. He underwent training in reputed institutes like the University of Manchester School of Medicine, Neonatal Intensive Care at Chelsea Hospitals and Queen Charlotte in London, and Hope Hospital. He is the Managing Trustee and Founder of the trust called the Foundation for Newborns to perform charity work to enhance the health and care of sick newborns. Dr. Karthik Nagesh is also an adjunct faculty of Paediatrics at the KMC in Manipal University. Dr. Karthik Nagesh's selfless service and dedication in the field of neonatology have won him several awards and recognition. The GKNM Hospital conferred the Dr. G. K. Devarajulu Memorial Endowment Oration Award, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics offered him Dr. V. Balagopal Raju Award for his Child health research paper, and IAP Delhi awarded him with Dr. Satya Gupta Endowment Prize. This Indian, conferred with FRCPCH, (London) has also authored two chapters of the IAP-NNF Textbook of Clinical Neonatology published by Jaypee Bros. in 2021, which is now used for neonatal practice reference by Indian neonatologists. He has also written and edited a chapter of the renowned Cloherty and Stark’s Manual of Neonatal Care – South Asian Edition 2021 that has NICU protocols to be followed by neonatologists. Dr. Karthik Nagesh made the country beam with pride by being instrumental in conducting Newborn Week celebration events and Newborn Health initiatives by collaborating with National Neonatology Forum and United Nations. He was the first to introduce air transport to ensure immediate medical attention for sick newborns in India.

  • Dr Karthik Nagesh pursued his training in Neonatal Intensive Care at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospitals in London, and at the Hope Hospital, University of Manchester School of Medicine.
  • Nagesh returned to India in 1992, to set up one of the first tertiary level care Neonatal Intensive Care Units in India.
  • He is well known for having setup a ‘state of the art NICU’ at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore with the reputation of providing high quality intensive care to the sickest of small neonates ethically.
  • He was the Head of Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital from 2001 to 2004 and later has been the Head of Neonatology.
  • He then turned his focus to promoting Paediatric Research in priority areas relevant to India and to pursue imparting education in neonatology more actively amongst paediatricians.
  • He is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the ‘Foundation for Newborns’, a trust which does charity work for sick babies and promotes newborn health. He was President of the National Neonatology Forum (Karnataka, India) from 2001 to 2003.
