Mr. Syed Riyaz was diagnosed with a rare heart ailment where all four valves of his heart had been affected and were found to be narrow. The strength of his heart's contractility had also come down. Three of the valves were replaced with mechanical valves and the fourth one was successfully widened. While diagnosing a complex pregnancy, it was revealed that the baby had a rare congenital heart ailment in the intrauterine stage called transposition of arteries, commonly called the blue baby syndrome. The child underwent an arterial switch operation, which is a complex operation. However, the baby recovered very well and was discharged by the tenth day.
