Orthopaedic doctor in Kolkata

Most people are aware that visiting a doctor once every three to six months is a good idea to ensure your overall health. People believe that musculoskeletal problems will resolve themselves, and they are often hesitant to visit or seek advice from a doctor.

Our body contains more than 206 bones and joints. If even one of them malfunctions, the person could be in for a world of pain and discomfort. Furthermore, if not treated on time by an orthopaedic, even simple activities and daily tasks may appear difficult. Hence, being aware of a few notable symptoms may indicate the need to see an orthopaedic doctor.

Symptoms to visit an Orthopaedic Doctor

  • Pain around the joints

It develops over time as the cartilage and protective cushion between the bones deteriorate. The joints stiffen and become painful. This pain can be caused by inflammation or swelling around the joints, but it can also be caused by the bones rubbing together. Excess weight, previous joint injuries, and repetitive bending of individual joints as a result of occupation or daily tasks can all increase the chances of developing joint pain.

  • Swelling around a joint is followed by a fall or trauma

The swelling around the joint followed by a fall or trauma results in inflammation. Swelling or bruising over a bone injury causes pain that worsens with movement or pressure, due to loss of function of the injured body part. Consult with our orthopaedic doctor in Kolkata for the treatment of swelling joints.

  • Radiating pain in hands and legs

Inflammation is one of many possible causes of hand or foot pain. Swelling of the joints, muscles, or tissue in the hands and feet can occur as a result of an injury or as a result of inflammatory disorders such as arthritis and nerve damage.

  • Difficulty in walking and climbing staircase

Difficulty ascending and descending stairs is a sign of knee joint damage, which causes degeneration of the cartilage of the knee joints.  Even mild arthritis and loss of protective cushioning in the knee joints can make stair climbing extremely difficult. As a result, if someone experiences minor pain or discomfort while ascending or descending the stairs, an orthopaedic doctor is preferred and appropriate measures are taken before the pain worsens.

  • Early morning heel pain

It most commonly occurs during the first few steps in the morning or after a long period of sitting, and at the end of the day from prolonged standing. The sudden tension causes stretching after shortening overnight resulting in morning pain.

  • Pain around the elbow and thumb joint

If someone frequently drops things, they have tingling in their thumbs, index, or middle fingers. The nerve that runs from the forearm to the wrist passes through a "tunnel" in the wrist, providing sensation to the thumb and all the fingers. Elbow pain is frequently caused by forearm overuse or injury sustained while participating in sports such as tennis, weight lifting, and other racquet sports. People who suffer from elbow pain frequently have difficulty lifting or bending their arms.

  • Diffuse body pain

It is the pain that is widespread, or at least in several locations. It may occur due to muscle pain from overuse or due to a minor injury. It may also occur due to any infection, illness or medicine taken.

  • Stiffness around joints

It is the sensation that joint motion is restricted or difficult in other types of inflammatory arthritis, and it subsides after an hour or more of activity. As the person gets older, the spongy material that protects the ends of the bones, cartilage, begins to dry out and stiffen. Hence, orthopaedic doctors recommend pain relief methods for reducing pain and stiffness around the joints. Book an appointment at our orthopaedic hospital in Kolkata for the best treatment.

  • Restricted movement around the shoulder

It is a painful condition where the movement of the shoulder is restricted. It develops when the strong connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint thickens, stiffens, and becomes inflamed.

  • Multiple joint pain with morning stiffness

Mobility and stiffness are affected by diet, weight, and other lifestyle factors. Mild morning stiffness is common in osteoarthritis. People with osteoarthritis may experience the same stiffness during the day after resting the joint for an hour or so.

  • Bilateral sacroiliitis joint pain with morning stiffness

It can be either dull or sharp. The pain is typically felt in the lower back, but it can spread to the upper back, buttocks, thighs, or legs. The pain is frequently felt on one side of the lower back.

  • Deformity around knee and ankle joints

Knee joints are affected by genetic incompatibility. Previous trauma, such as a tibial fracture or damage to the bone growth zone, is the second most common cause of knee joint. Any deformities in the ankle joints are caused while walking, running, jogging, or participating in sports activities.

The muscles, joints, and nerves continue to perform some motions that can sometimes impair their proper functioning, and it is recommended that they be cared for before the conditions worsen. If the person feels any pain in their muscles, joints, or bones, they should see a doctor right away. The symptoms, which include pain and strange sensations in the bones, muscles, and joints, necessitate an immediate visit to an orthopaedic doctor. Even simple activities and tasks related to one's daily activities can be considered difficult.
