    Overview

  • Dr. Govind Nandakumar, a surgical gastroenterologist in Yeshwanthpur Bangalore, completed his medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine New York. Following this, he pursued his surgical training at Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, and New York Hospital. After obtaining his American Board of Surgery he pursued an advanced Colorectal Fellowship at Washington University, St. Louis, and his American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

  • He obtained an advanced fellowship in Liver and Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery with Dr. Daniel Cherqui, Dr. Michelassi, and Dr. Lieberman at Weill Cornell Medical College. He subsequently stayed on at Cornell as faculty and continues to hold his faculty position. He moved to Bangalore in 2015 to establish a center of excellence in gastrointestinal diseases. His interests are in advanced GI surgery Laparoscopy, Robotics, Colon and Rectal Surgery, and Liver and HPB surgery. He has a particular interest in surgery for GI and liver Cancers and in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
