A colposcopy is a type of cervical cancer test. The doctor uses an instrument called the colposcope to screen your cervix or the opening to your uterus.  It's used to trace any abnormal cells in your cervix including cancer. If cervical cancer is detected through screening and is at an early stage, it can be treated successfully.
