Radiculopathy Treatments in Baner, Pune | Manipal Hospitals

A pinched nerve is a condition which occurs when too much pressure is applied to a nerve by the tissues surrounding it, for example- muscles, cartilage, bones, or tendons. This pressure can cause pain, tingling, numbness or weakness in the body. The pinching of the nerve could impair the nerve impulse transfer or relaying of messages from the organ to the brain and therefore cause a sensation of function loss. It could occur anywhere in the body, and depending on the region of localization treatment may be done. Treatment for this condition depends on the cause and severity of nerve compression. Typically, pinched nerves are treated with physiotherapy, and steroids (NSAID corticosteroids, etc.). However, in some cases, orthopaedic surgery may be required to remove scar tissue or any other obstructive material that is interfering with the nerves.
